A warning has been issued for UK households who do NOT have smart meters. British Gas, EDF, EON, Ovo and Octopus customers are being urged to make one phone call and cut £176 off their energy bill.
Octopus Energy has installed its one-millionth smart meter of the year – a company first and "a major milestone", it says.
