The Menai Strait Bridge in Wales was the world’s longest suspension bridge when it opened in 1826. It’s still going strong today, thanks to the revolutionary engineering behind it.
Work on the Menai Suspension Bridge will now continue until spring 2027 say Welsh Government. The crossing over the Menai Strait was first closed suddenly back in October 2022 due to safety concerns.
